Winner – Subaru Outback 3.6R Touring
Wanted more car-like driving style, but with still decent ground clearance and hauling capacity. I would’ve liked to go w/ the Volvo, but it was way too expensive and I’m not sure about the long-term reliability of their new super-turbo-charged engine.
I also wanted something I could “beat-up” a bit. By that, I mean, something I can hae fun with, go places I probably shouldnt’, get messy and do some unconventional things. With the BMW, I felt like it was judging me most of the time and that pissed me off – as if asking “why are we going, here?” The Subaru feels more like a golden retreiver who is always game for whatever you want to do and happy to be doing it with you.
